Storyline works better pointing to story_html5.html but regular story just spins

Oct 05, 2016

Hi,

We created a presentation and we are having issues getting the story.html to work properly.  It seems to load but takes along time in IE and chrome.  We changed the link to the story_html5.html and everything loads much quicker and works well.  With the html5 one, we have issues with IE not loading the beginning part of video intro but works fine afterwards.  In Chrome html5 works perfectly.  Any ideas?  Our site is http://pur.doas.ga.gov/HRA/FlexBenefits/story_html5.html and http://pur.doas.ga.gov/HRA/FlexBenefits/story.html is not linked but exists.

Running build 11 (newest) of SL? I'd suggest an update if not, and check out the associated release notes, especially Flash 23. I know Articulate generally recommends Chrome over IE (or Microsoft's Edge on Windows 10); and HTML5 if available. The story.html file sniffs things out and loads the HTML5 if support is available, as that's best & fastest rendering

Hi William!

If you just see a spinning circle or a Flash Player notification when you launch published courses on your local computer, you may be experiencing a new Flash Player security feature. See this article for details and solutions.

Brian is correct, this was addressed in our latest update, which is Update 11, as well and we certainly recommend utilizing the latest update.
