storyline_compiled.js missing from published file
Mar 25, 2014
Hi all,
Looking for some help on a strange issue I'm having.
We released a module to the client and they tried to upload to their LMS but received an error message and it would not work. The previous release worked without issue and we have now compared the published packages.
The only difference we could see is that the storyline_compiled.js was missing from newly published file. It's so strange because we only made minor changes between releases and I can't control whether this file is published or not.
What's also strange is that the storyline_compiled.js file in the old module has a date stamp of 16/05/2013 16:23 whereas nearly all of the other files have todays date stamp. This seems odd.
I copied the storyline_compiled.js into the new build in the same location, zipped it up and it's working as it should, however, this isn't a permanent fix and will need to be done every time the course is updated/republished.
Does anyone have any experience of this issue. Basically I just need Storyline to publish including the storyline_compiled.js file.
Thanks for reading.
Dan

Hi Dan:
I assume you are describing the storyline_compiled.js file in the mobile folder?

Hi Dennis,
Yes, sorry, I am referring to the storyline_compiled.js file in the mobile folder.
I have just tried unticking all the HTML options and republishing then re-selecting the options and republising but the file is still not being included.
Thanks for your prompt reply.

Hi Dan:
You should open a ticket, I just published using SL Version 5 and the file exists in my mobile folder.

Hi Dan,
I don't see a case yet (you may not have submitted one yet) but you're also welcome to share your file here with us and we can try publishing on our end to see if it's file specific. Are you able to try a new file with just a few slides and see if that works as expected?
@Dennis - thanks for your responses/help.
@Ashley - I have just raised a case # 00391427, however, the plot has thickened....
I tried to copy across the missing file into the below path but windows would not let me. It was saying it could not find the location. IT since copied across the file without issue. I then republished and the file was showing there, however when I uploaded to SCORM cloud the package did not work and I received the below webpage error details.
I have asked a colleague to republish the file and the compiled file is showing there but we are getting the same issue when trying to upload/run the course via scormcloud.

Hi Dan,
Thanks for sharing your case number - I see you're working with Cleo and he was doing some additional testing. I'll continue to follow along as it looks like he shared it with our QA team as well.
Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if there was a resolution to this issue? We just upgraded to Storyline 2. In Storyline 1, we were using a customized storyline_compiled.js file for our mobile delivery. I noticed that file did not publish out this time and was wondering if it should be there. Thank you!
Hi Julia,
The resolution in Dan's case is that storyline_compiled.js was renamed to player_compiled. This file should no longer be there.
Great, thank you Ashley!
