SWF files audio lost after published via Storyline
Jan 27, 2014
Hi
we have both Articulate studio 09 and Storyline and been using studio mostly as it could meet our needs. recently we try to have quizzes inset in between slides and have a final result slides. realized studio does not have the feature and thus turn to Storyline. However, all the imported SWF files were able to play during single slide preview but not able to hear the audio after published via storyline. been searching the forum and found not answers.
the swf files were created using the following steps before imported into storyline:
1. create the necessary animation in powerpoint
2. import the ppt file into captivate 4
3. import mp3 audio narration and syn with ppt animation
4. publish via captivate 4 and import the publish swf files into storyline
please let me know what setting or steps could be taken so that the package published via storyline could play all the imported swf files.
thank you
kk

Hi kk:
By chance, in Captivate, did you check to see if the Externalize files is not set when you published?
In Captivate, you have the ability to save all output into their own files. If you select this, you will find the mp3 files of audio are not part of your Captivate produced swf files.

Hi Dennis
SWF files are individual files published with audio integrated. The strange thing is that the swf in the first slide in Storyline could play normally but the subsequent few could play but No audio.
what else can I check in either captivate or storyline?

Hi kk:
If you were to play the output CP swf files outside of any product, does the audio play with the video?

Hi Dennis
yes, so far no issues whether the SWF files play by itself or after published via Articulate studio. Only when imported to storyline, the audio can't play.

Hi kk:
I recommend having Articulate support look at this: http://www.articulate.com/support/contact/submit.php
