SWF Objects moving when published

Jun 18, 2015

Hi Heroes,

We seem to have encountered a problem wherein, we placed an SWF on our slide and when we played the published storyline 2 story.html file the some (not all) objects on the SWF are offset to the right. We tried resizing the browser window and the animated object moves as we resize. We are using Chrome for our browser.

But when we play the story.swf file it plays fine even when resizing the window. We also tried to play the original .swf file and it also plays fine even when resizing.

We saw this thread: https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-presenter/flash-files-resizes-and-moves-on-first-view

and this thread:  http://www.articulate.com/support/presenter-09/web-object-is-offset-in-published-presentation

and it doesn't seem to work/help.

Please help!

HI, Luis --

To get started, there are a few things we can look at initially to rule out some common causes of errors: Please make sure you are working locally as described here, and you may want to try importing the file into a new file. If you are still having issues, you might want to try to repair Storyline. Also, could you please ensure that you are utilizing the most recent SL2 Update? Info on Update 5 can be found here

Hope that helps, and if not, it would be helpful if you could provide your file or a sample so we can take a closer look.

Hi Christie!

Thank you for your reply. We are working locally but this would be delivered through an LMS.

We'll try importing it to a new file. and yes we are using the latestand licensed update of storyline but I don't think this is a storyline issue since I also tried on our computers and it still does not work.

What we did is we just locked the player to it's optimal size and the browser to it's optimal size. It worked but the problem is that for some small monitors, they would have to scroll. and this is not the effect we wanted.

We'll try other options too. Thanks Christie!!
