Having downloaded the trial version of Captivate onto my sleek Macs, I'm not impressed. Even the demo course crashed! But switching over to Storyline 2 is a huge investment. Is it really that much better? If so, I'd appreciate any tips on what PC / Os / Screen.
Does the PC need to be fast? Laptop / Desktop. Any recommendations?
Windows 8.1 I guess? Hope it's more stable nowadays - my last experience was Windows XP.
How big does the screen need to be? Is it much better to have two screens?
Hi Ian, try the free storyline download. Your setup doesn't have to be massive. Off course 2 screens are preferable but I've been rocking it on a small laptop.
For optimal experience more power and speed is always better but Storyline doesn't require a space ship to run 😄
That¹s very helpful Phil. I had considered running Parallels but had been
slightly put off by reports of it being slow but clearly not to the point
of being unusable from what you say.
No not slow at all, I have run it on 2010 Macbook Pro, Late 2011 iMac i5, Macbook Air and 2013 iMac i7. the only machine that struggled was the air and gave a respectable performance only limited by the amount of RAM it had.
I also run it using Parallels/Win7 on an older (2009) Macbook Pro sometimes. It doesn't load as quickly but once it's up and running the performance is fine. There is some quirkiness with keyboard shortcuts but that's just the difference of Windows and Macs, not something specific to SL.
Hi, Ian - I run SL2 with VMware/Win 7 on a 2015 Macbook Pro, and I also can't say that I have noticed any issues. Hope you're getting the info you need to make your decision, and here is a link to the free 30 day trial of SL2 if you want to give it a go! :)

Many thanks but the reason for the hesitancy is that being a Mac devotee
up till now I have no easy way to try out Storyline 2.
I think there are a lot of Mac users who run Storyline, most of the Devs also use Macs.
I run it in Parallels with Windows 7, I give windows a couple of cores and 4gb of Ram everything else is for my Mac

Great. I¹ll try it. One of the reasons Storyline 2 has its reputation is
because of the support community. Many thanks.
