syncing audio with bullet points
May 02, 2014
Apologies - this is probably a very basic question, but I have been tearing my hair out for the last few hours trying to find a way to make this work.
I have imported an existing powerpoint presentation into storyline and I have recorded an audio.
There are a couple of slides that have bullet points and I wanted the animation to be synced by bullet to the audio, but I can't seem to find a way to make that happen.
Do I need to make separate text boxes for each of the bullets?

Hi Barbara, welcome to the community. You can apply an animation, e.g. Fade In to your textbox and set the animation to 'By First Level Paragraph' as described here. This way, you don't have to break up your text box. Also, I often use CuePoints to synch animations to audio, as described here. Hope that helps.
Thank you so much, Michael. That helps.
If the text is in bullet points but part of one text box is it still possible to cue bullet points with audio file?
Hi Susan,
If you apply the first level animation to your bullet points, you'll see them separated out a bit in the timeline and you should be able to use that to apply your cue points and move the timing of those individual elements as well:
Hope that helps!
Hmm, thank you for the info! I still cannot get this to work; how do you "apply the first level of animation" my bullet points do not appear on separate lines as indicated in your graphic.
Hi Michele,
I'd be glad to help. Check out this brief Peek 360 video walking through how to set this up.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
The links to the articles are not working. Have they changed? I cannot access the Syncing Animations with Audio tutorial.
After a lengthy search, I think I found the new link... https://community.articulate.com/articles/syncing-animations-in-storyline-2
