Tab order bypassing objects on Result Slide Failure Layer after Review button - Storyline 3

Jan 18, 2019

Hi Articulate

I'm having an accessibility issue with the tab ordering function on the failure layer after a learner reviews their assessment.

- On the results slide, I have included a Review Button on the Failure layer.

- Once the learner has completed the review (using tab key to navigate) and is returned to the results slide/failure layer, you cannot tab to any objects on the layer (including the re-try button).

I'm aware of the current tab order issues with regards to base slides and layers not interacting properly - wondering if this issue is part of that same bug? Or is there a way around it?

I have tried changing the failure layer properties from "Resume saved state" to "Automatically decide" - no change.

Any ideas? File attached!

Hi Sharna,

Thanks for sharing your file!  Everything looked great, so I published it and hosted on the web here.  When I used the keyboard to experience the entire course, I was able to keep tabbing after doing a review of my quiz answers.

Can you check my output and tell me if you have a different experience on your end?  I tested in Chrome and Internet Explorer 11.

Hi Sharna,

Thanks so much for sharing those videos. I tested your file in Storyline 3, and I saw the same issue you're seeing in Preview mode. We've had our eye on a bug where the tab order skips the Failure and Success layer when revisiting the Result Slide after the first attempt, and what you're seeing is related to this bug.

As soon as we get this sorted out, we'll pop back into this discussion to update you. I'm sorry for the headaches this is causing!
