I have several PowerPoint decks with tightly formatted tables. When I import these slides into Storyline 360 they lose their formatting settings and no longer fit on the slide. Is there a way that I can have the tables imported as images?
Presenter 360 would solve the problem for this particular series of courses, however it crashes constantly.
So I am caught between a rock and a hard spot. Any ideas?
Hey Karen - I did a quick look, too, and I see that we have documented an issue where tables imported from PowerPoint are not retaining their formatting. I'm adding this discussion to our report so we can continue to work on this issue.
You can select a table in PowerPoint, right click, and Save as picture. You can then insert that picture file into Storyline. I'm not sure how many tables you have and if that would be a viable workaround for you.
Definitely let us know about the crashing too, as Leslie asked!
Regarding the crashing. I think it may be a lack of RAM. I have ordered an upgrade. If I open Quizmaker directly and then import it, I am O.K. If I open Quizmaker in PowerPoint/Articulate it crashes.
Are you importing from Powerpoint into Storyline? If so, with Articulate 360 and a recent update to Storyline it now natively supports tables. I was trying to find that mention in the tutorial Leslie shared, and I didn't see it. Did you have another article that you were reading? I'd want to make sure our team updates it everywhere.

My current theory is that imported tables appear to have different formatting than the original in PowerPoint. I believe the issue is caused by blank cells coming in with a space character and then the space character has default spacing that blows up the size of a tightly spaced table.
Thanks, Karen, for pointing us to that article! We'll get that document updated as soon as possible.
We'll also test your theory about the formatting issues we're seeing with imported tables. Thanks again for your thoughtfulness, and I'll keep you posted on what we find or any changes.

Hey Karen,
Sorry to hear that you're having difficulty importing your Powerpoint content as you wish.
Are you following the instructions here to do so?
Back to the crashing you are experiencing:
Is this with all courses that you are working on or just a particular one?
If you're having difficulty with your software in general, it may be a good time to repair your software.

Regarding import to PowerPoint features. I believe this article is out of date as it states that tables come in as images. They come in as tables.
