Testing accessibility compliance

Sep 28, 2023

Hello everyone,

We're currently in the process of developing e-learning courses in collaboration with a supplier who is supposed to apply the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and Section 508 accessibility standards. I have a few questions regarding how we can effectively ensure that these accessibility standards are being met throughout the development process:

1. **Verification Tools:** Are there any web-based tools or software applications available that can help us assess and verify the accessibility of our content? I'm looking for recommendations on tools that can scan and identify accessibility issues in our e-learning courses.

2. **User Devices:** Are there specific devices, such as tablets or PCs, that we should use to test the accessibility of our courses? I'd like to know if testing on different devices can reveal any disparities in accessibility.

3. **Accessibility Reports:** Is there a way to generate detailed accessibility reports for our e-learning courses? These reports would be valuable for tracking progress and ensuring that we meet the required accessibility standards.

4. **Industry Best Practices:** I'm interested in hearing about industry best practices and experiences from those who have successfully implemented accessible e-learning courses. What strategies have you found effective in ensuring accessibility compliance?

I appreciate any insights, recommendations, or personal experiences you can share on these topics. Ensuring that our e-learning courses are accessible to all is a top priority, and your expertise would greatly assist us in achieving that goal.

Thank you in advance for your valuable input!

Hi Ashraf!

It sounds like you had questions about your e-learning courses meeting WCAG guidelines.

I see that you previously connected with my colleague Cleobar through a live chat. Smart move! It looks like Cleobar shared some great resources with you, and also suggested you reach out to the E-Learning Heroes community to gather input from other developers.

Thanks for reaching out! I'll open up the floor to our knowledgeable community in the hopes they will be able to share some insight with you!
