The text box with reference does not auto-resize to fit text that is entered. The text box containing the reference to the text-entry variable is set to "resize shape to fit text." The text format for the reference text box is Calibri, 12 pt., but the captured text displays in a very tiny text size, and the text box does not resize to fit the text.
One adjustment that you can make is to upgrade your course's project text to take advantage of the three autofit options that were introduced in recent versions of Storyline 360.
After upgrading your project text and then adjusting the text box to cover more area similar to what is shown in the screenshot below:
You can get the course to appear like this after adjusting the text box to use the following settings:
