Text Entry Inputs

Hey!

I am working on a software simulation in storyline. At one point, the user jots down notes into a text entry input. A few slides later I would like those same notes to show up again on a different slide. Is that possible?

  • Hi Rachel,

Yes! You just need to reference what they typed in, which gets stored as a Text Variable. If you look on the slide where they input something, you should see there's a trigger that says "Set TextEntry equal to the typed value when Text Entry loses focus." TextEntry (the one with no spaces) is the name of a variable that Storyline is storing behind the scenes. You can reference that in any text box on a future slide by typing %TextEntry%
