Text entry with single word edit?

Hi everyone - I am running into a problem that I thought would be easy to fix :)

How can I have a slide with a text entry field  that allows the user to edit a single work / line of their text. I know they can place the cursor and do a delete to get rid of words, but I'd like for them to be able to select words with their mouse and edit.

Right now, I only see that all text can be selected with the mouse (screen shot and file attached)

Any ideas? Am I missing something simple?  Thanks!
