Text from Imported PowerPoint Cut Off

Sep 12, 2013

I imported a PowerPoint presentation into Storyline. In the importing thumb nail view all the slides looked good, but once the slides where actually in Storyline, my text headings were all cut in half (see picture). I have tried to resize both the original PowerPoint and the Storyline presentation, but the problem remains the same. I have also tried to resize the font in Storyline, but the complete text only appears when the font size is dramatically reduced. Resizing the text boxes also does not solve the problem.

Any suggestions? The text format in this picture is used in many of our online courses which worked without a problem in Articulate Presenter.

Thanks,

Ron

Hi Leslie,

Thanks for the note. The issue occurs regardless of the zoom setting in Storyline. I set it to 85% just to make it easier for the screen capture.

Also, I read the part about Storyline not being a one-to-one conversion, but this is a standard font (Calibri) and there is no explanation anywhere as to what or why the text in the headings would be cut like this. This could be a nonstarter for our company to use Storyline as we have 15-20 courses that use this same style and formatting and to have to go back and make changes at the individual slide level would not be practical. We would need a way to import the presentations into Storyline without having this issue show up.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Ron

The course is pretty straight forward. No animations other than simple PowerPoint bullet fade ins. I would be happy to share the presentation if that would help. Just let me know how I can get it to you. I could also send you a version of the course I just published in Presenter that did not have this issue. FYI - people in my company are already asking me about moving courses to Storyline, but I have told them to hold on until this issue has been resolved.

Thanks,

Ron
