text issues since recent updates (formatting and spacing)

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone else has had text issues since the recent update that adds scroll bars to the text boxes? I like that feature, but sometimes the text will show a scroll bar even when it's not wanted, mainly after previewing or publishing a course. Also sometimes the formatting of text boxes just is different when previewing or publishing vs in the storyline program.

Also a big issue was that when using any superscript, it would create extra space on that line and the line below it. I was able to fix it (sometimes) when going to insert- symbol and finding the superscript numbers or symbols that way. But I couldn't always do that, since our course required a lot of superscript, some with commas etc. Also it added a fair amount of time to go and fix every single instance. Just wanted to add this comment to see if it could be fixed or if it's a common occurrence recently?

Hello Brian!

We're happy to help! It sounds like there are a few things that you're running into:

Scrollbars are added to text boxes in a recent update.
Formatting of text boxes is different in Preview/Publish
Extra space is shown above and below, a superscript symbol when added, not from the symbol window.

The scrollbars you're seeing were a feature added in May to Storyline 360, however, we've made changes to this feature which you can find here.

The formatting of the textbox shouldn't be different in Preview or Publish. Are you seeing this with every project or just this specific one? Can you upload a .story file so we can see what you're noticing on your end? You can share it in this discussion or privately in a support case.

Lastly, I don't see the same issue with superscript text. I've tried to recreate this in Storyline 360 (Build 3.57.26476.0) but I'm not seeing the extra space. Can you share either a screenshot or screen recording of this behavior so we can get it logged if it is a bug?

Good morning, Lauren,

I'd like to chime in on the scrollbars being added. The scrollbars being added is listed as a feature, but I'm experiencing instances when they're added but not needed and needed but not added. I've changed textboxes from Do not resize to Resize to fit. I've changed from uninstalled font to a basic font. I can't get it to stop doing this.

same with me Alison, the only way around it has been to increase the width or height of each text box whenever they show up. it's never really been resolved. Granted, there's been less occurrences of scrolls being added lately at least, but they still show up. I also have issues of random spacing being different in text boxes. Again, previewing each slide is crucial to see these, since they almost never show up until you preview or publish.

also I would upload .story files, but these are courses for clients so I don't think I can. Maybe when I am more free I could try.

Also the superscript spacing issue doesn't occur for some reason if you go to insert-symbol- then find the super/sub script. But you can't always find them that way.
