Text Variables

I have been walking through the steps for adding a text variable, but it is not working. I have the name entered into a data entry field on the first slide and then on the last slide, it is supposed to fill in the name from that field.
I have gone through all the steps a few times and I think I did everything correctly. On the last slide I added a text box with a reference to the variable. It shows up correctly there, %Name%. But when I preview the whole storyline, starting with entering the name on the first slide, when I get to the last slide, the area where the name should show up is blank. What am I doing wrong?

Make sure that on the slide with the Text Entry Box, you change the trigger so that the entered text is actually stored in your Name variable.
I meant to include this simple example, in case you want to see the setup.
