Text Box Issues

I have 3 slides. The first slide has a picture of a login screen for a software program. In the User Name field, I added a Text Entry control, set the Type to Text, and renamed it User_Name. On the second slide (duplicate picture from the first slide), I added a Text Box in the same place were the User Name field is and inserted a Reference and chose the variable from the Text Entry control on the first slide.
When I run the scene, I can enter text in the text entry control on the first page. When I click Next to advance to the second page, the text from the first page does not show up. I have checked and re-checked my work and cannot figure out what I did wrong.
Any ideas?

Hi Mark! Would you be able to share your .story file so that we could take a look? The text isn't hidden behind your image is it?
You type your name in the User Name field on the 1st slide and then advance to the next slide. Only a "0" shows up which is the default value.......

On the 1st slide, you have the name set as User_Name, but you referenced UserName, which is why it's not pulling.
Add the underscore and it works as you intend.
