I've been using Storyline 360 for a while now but am baffled as to what the special text layers are(they have an icon with a little orange bar, see image)? They seem to be able to pull in information from other places but how do you set one up or alter it to be a standard text layer?
It' s just a text box in the timeline but it has a different icon to other text boxes. The image I attached is really all I know about it, it seems to be in templates, I wouldn't know how to create one from scratch?
Is there a way to create a Title textbox instead of a Context textbox? I could copy and paste from another template, but I'm wondering if there's a more simple way to do it? When I'm in the Insert tab, I only see the option to create a regular text box.
In Slide view, you cannot add a Title textbox but you can do a right click > apply layout and then choose a layout that has a title.
You can add a title placeholder to a slide master layout. Go to View > Slide Master, then go to the Slide Master menu, beside the "Insert Placeholder" button, click on the checkbox beside "Title" to show or hide the title placeholder.

Hello Richard!
I am happy to help! Can you share more about where you see that icon in Storyline 360? Are you referring to Feedback Layers in Storyline 360?

Thanks for those extra details, Richard!
That icon is the symbol showing the textbox is a Title textbox. There are Title and Context textboxes. Here's a screenshot.
Are you looking to pull information from one slide or layer to another? Can you share more as to what you have in mind design-wise?
