I am trying to sync my audio and graphics together and when I click on the play button while editing, the slide will pause. Does anyone know what could be causing it?
That's definitely odd! Is it possible that you’re working from somewhere other than your local C: drive? Working from a network drive or a USB drive can cause a few different problems, and you can read more about that here.
Are you seeing this on one slide in particular, or on every slide? If it's on every slide, a simple repair usually does the trick.
It is on many slides. I am working on my local drive. If I have to reinstall the software, do I need my product key? My IT department installed the software and it will take about a week to get them to reinstall it as they will not hand over the key.
The activation code should automatically populate in the field when you reinstall. If you'd like to get a second pair of eyes on this, shoot your file over to our Support Engineers here. They'll be glad to test it and let you know what could be causing the issue. And if you do decide to open a case, let me know your case number so I can follow along. :)
Thank you for following up. I submitted a case and the number is: 01035319
Just a bit nervous about reinstalling as I do not have a spare second for downtime if I have to contact IT.
Do you mean that you are previewing the slide, you click on the play button to start the audio and the preview pauses?
If so, preview using the icon on the ribbon. If preview is started using the space bar, or the icon in the timeline, any click or key press (except C and space) will stop it.
I hear you, Lynne. Thanks for letting me know you opened a case. The engineers may tell you that you don't need to do the repair after looking at your file, so I'd agree that it's best to hold off on that for now.
When you push play on the timeline playbar, clicking the audio play button, or anywhere else will stop the preview. Pressing "c" while it is previewing will create a cue point on the timeline.
Personally, I play my audio in Audacity and use that to find exact points in the audio, then set them in SL. it is a lot more accurate than setting cue points while previewing.

No. It only happens when I am editing the slide, and pushing play on the timeline playbar. I am trying to align my audio with graphics.
