Timer for Branching Simulation

Is there a way to implement this timer, or any particular count-down timer without the quiz form? I'm trying to avoid having a submit button due to my course being an instantaneous branching simulation, and to be fair, having a submit button kind of diminishes the reflex time of the user.
At the end of the timer the user will simply have to restart the question after receiving a feedback slide or layer. The built in quiz form would kind of impeded the way I'd like to branch this SIM--especially since we are utilizing video.
Also, if there are other examples of what I've described it would be fantastic to view those.
