Tip: For if your custom buttons aren't working

I wanted to share a solution to a problem I had with a recent Storyline 2 course. It used custom navigation buttons, not the buttons provided in the course player. They had been working fine but at some point stopped working correctly.
To be specific, the custom Continue buttons (which used "Jump to slide" triggers) were skipping screens and jumping to the wrong places. Most of them went back to the Main Menu. The triggers, however, were all correct. The problem occurred in the HTML5 version. They were consistent between an iPad and if the HTML5 was viewed in a web browser on a desktop computer.
The solution was to re-create the custom buttons from scratch. Once that was done, they all worked as they were supposed to.

I want to verify that you are working locally with your files as described here. Also, have you tried importing the file into a new file to see if this helps? If you see this issue in other files, you may want to follow the steps listed here.
Thanks for checking Emily. Yes, I've been working locally and this issue was only in this one particular file.
I worked with Articulate Support on this problem. The solution given in this tip was the one they arrived at that I was able to verify and use. It may be a very case-specific issue, but I figured I'd share it in case someone else runs into it.
