Toggle Button with SL3
Jun 26, 2020
Hi. I am using the latest version of Storyline. I just want to use a single button to toggle on and off a slide. If I click once on it, the slide appears, and if I click again it disappears, and so on. The only examples I have found so far are done with Storyline 2 in which apparently there was a "set the variable to =NOT Assignment" line that I do not see in my trigger menu. Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks

I would use True/False variable and toggle the variable using the triggers. Please see the attached sample file. Feel free to contact if you require further information.
Thank you so much for your prompt reply. Yes, this is what I want, but where is this Toggle command that you attached to your variable? I cannot see it anywhere. Is this a recent add on? I have not updated my Storyline for at least 3 months, maybe that's the reason. Or I am blind. There was an old discussion here where in the last post someone said now it is easy, you just have to use the Toggle command. I look everywhere but I cannot find it.
Oh, sorry, I have used SL360 in the sample file. Here are the steps for SL3. (Toggle trigger is available in SL360)
1. Created a true/false variable called 'button'
2. Then open trigger panel to add a trigger.
3. Select 'Adjust the variable'
4. Selected the variable 'button'
5. Then select 'NOT Assignment'
Not sure whether this is changed from the previous versions, do you see a similar window when you open the trigger panel?
I am also using Storyline 360. My version is V3.36.21289.0 so I assumed it was referred to as ST3. Sorry if I confused you. And again, I do not see this Toggle command anywhere.
Ha! Found it. So, I was blind. Thank you very much again :-)
Glad you found it! :)
use selected state and use equal to selected and not equal to selected no need for a variable
