Hi there, I am trying to toggle a hidden state for a text box when clicking another object. I am able to get it to work when the starting state is normal (it will become hidden and re-appear with click of the object) but not when the starting state is hidden - which is actually what I want. I've attached the storyline file. The text box I was working with was Rising Text and the object is menubutton. Would really appreciate if someone can see what I'm missing. Thanks!
The problem was that you added a new state called "Hidden," and that interferes with the built-in Hidden state.
You can set the Initial state for any object to Hidden without adding a Hidden state. As you'll see in the attached file, when you do that, the object will appear slightly dimmed while you're editing the slide. However, it will be invisible/hidden during preview and publishing.
BTW, in the attached file, I also got rid of the separate text boxes that were grouped with the Moon and Rising ovals. By adjusting the margins of those ovals, the text fits--and the avoids the need for using a group.
