I am working on creating an online training module for officials with storyline. Before I start, I want to know what information I will be able to receive once the participants completed their training?
Is there a way to set up the result sheets to get the participant's name and their membership number (we are a National sport organization)? I couldn't find the information on what happen once I publish my module online.
The information you'll be able to retrieve will depend a bit on where you'll be hosting your course and what the LMS will be able to report out on. The data that Storyline will send your LMS is detailed here and if you're having difficulty tracking the course you'll want to review this article on troubleshooting common LMS issues. You will also want to choose the publish for LMS option, and then you'll need to set up your publish settings as well depending on what your LMS will be able to report on.
Thank you for your response. I red the info in the links you sent me and it was very helpfull. I still wonder though; what personal info can I get from the students when they register for the course? Basically, what I would like to know is, on their end, what will they need to do to start one of our course. Can they enter their name, membership number and even somehow pay for the course before they start?
From what I understand, Storyline doesn't come with a LMS. Is that correct? Is there any recommendation on Articulate's website on which LMS to choose from?
It seems so easy to build the course but I feel a little bit lost on what happens once I'm done..!
You could have them enter their name, membership number and store them as variables which could be communicated to your LMS. Paying for the course is likely something you'd need to handle outside of Storyline.
Storyline is designed primarily as an elearning development tool to be used in conjunction with Articulate Online or your own Learning Management System (LMS).
Any LMS that is compliant with SCORM, AICC, or Tin Can API will also provide accurate tracking capabilities. Here are some open-source LMS options that may meet your tracking needs:
