Translating a course into Chinese with audio
Nov 13, 2014
I've written a course in English and have had the companies Chinese division ask to have it translated. I've managed to do that and also the narration done.
I've added it to the course but the only problem i have now is the timing.
As the language does not use an a-z alphabet, I haven't a clue how to align the text with the speech. Here's what i've considered/tried so far.
- I had the idea to use Skype or a screen share system so I could spend an hour with them virtually but their IT policies won't allow this.
- I also tried a translation tool that pronounced the words but I still couldn't make the words out so that didn't work.
- I don't know any Chinese speakers
- I had thought of putting a clock on the screen but I can't think of a way to do that?
Has anybody any other ideas?

Hi Howie,
Were you able to get this sorted? If not, do you happen to have a budget to contract out this type of work? There are companies and/or freelancers that could help you get the project finished. Let us know and we'll get you pointed in the right direction.

I've left it with them. I've given them a couple of options. Seth showed me how to put a timer on the screen so the Chinese speaker can identify the right time for the text to appear. I've also offered a screen share with the Chinese speaker.
