Trial Storyline - Ipad

Aug 15, 2014

I'm trialing Storyline and would like to show my boss on his Ipad/tablet. How can I get the content that I have created onto a tablet, using the trial software? I can't use my company's website yet until I valided the software (which requires my boss to look at the content). I was thinking of putting the storyline output on dropbox or goggledrive and send him the link, but that doesn't seem to work.

Any ideas

Hi there! The page below describes some options for temporarily hosting a course file for viewing and testing:

It does note that for Dropbox, you need to put the file in the Public folder. And then you want to point to the story.html file, of course.

You could also use Articulate's Tempshare site, as long as your boss will look at the sample within 10 days.

I'm sure you know that for optimal playback on an iPad, you should download the free Articulate Mobile Player app onto the iPad. Then, when you open the URL on your iPad's browser (or from within an email on the iPad), the course will open in the Player automatically.

If your boss is reviewing on an Android tablet, then it should be able to play the Flash version of your published course.

If you haven't already viewed this information about what features play on various mobile formats, you should check it out before showing your test course to your boss:

I hope this helps!

Hi Mal,

You could also use the trial of Articulate Online and host your content there - I would worry about play back from Dropbox or Google Drive while on the iPad - as it's not always the best in terms of memory usage and then could cause playback delays.

Also, Storyline content may work on some Android devices. However, Articulate does not officially support Android devices or browsers. Click here to review the system requirements for authoring and viewing Storyline content.

If you'd like to see official support for a particular mobile device, we welcome your feature requests.

Hope that helps!
