Trigger Help - Submit Interaction!

I have built a certification course that contains a variety of questions, including multiple layers on Pick Many question types, along with hotspot questions and single response questions. My issue is with the Pick Many and Hotspot questions. The INCORRECT layer is shown when the hotspot is clicked, but the specific trigger is to show the CORRECT layer (see attached picture of slide & triggers).
Is there a way that my "submit interaction" trigger could be countering the "show layer" trigger? Also, do I need the "submit interaction" trigger at all? What is the purpose of this?

Hi Rachel
are you using the built in submit or a custom submit button.
SL takes the last click as the answer when you are still located on the slide
If you are using the player submit button - you are moving from the slide to the player
If you are using a custom submit button - because that is the last click it will show as incorrect - you'd need to show the custom submit button on a layer...see the attached 2 slide example for the difference.
If neither the above refer to your setup - can you share the slide - might be easier to explain what is happening if we see the setup.
I am not using a submit button. I am having the learner walk through a software simulation and (ideally) submit the interaction when a variable reaches a certain number. That number is added to each time a learner progresses to the next layer (new screen) of the simulation.
Can I share my project privately with you?
Hi Rachel
I'm not Articulate staff but happy to take a look if you want to share the file with me. Click my profile pic and you'll see a contact me button - we can connect that way.
Hi Rachel,
I'm glad that Wendy has offered to assist.
If you decide to work privately with a support engineer then, with your permission, I'd like you to share your project file privately by uploading it here. It will be deleted when troubleshooting is complete.
Thanks for your input, Wendy. Leslie, due to the sensitive content, I will work with a support engineer using the link. I really appreciate the support!
I am sure the engineers will figure this out, but jsut adding in, it looks like hotspot 1 is under hotspot 2 there, so it might not be registering the click on hotspot 1 to be correct. Not sure where your hotspots are but just throwing it out there as a possibility.
Thank you for sharing your file for a closer look, Rachel!
I see Chino from our Support team received your case for review. (I've added Randy's thought there, too!)
You're in great hands, and he'll be in touch with his results after careful troubleshooting!
Just wanted to tie up loose ends on this discussion for anyone with the same issue. I had my correct hotspot overlaying the incorrect hotspot which was cause confusion with the program. The fix is using a freeform hotspot and not overlapping them. Another fix could be to delete the submit interaction trigger, but I need the reporting aspect and thus need this trigger to stay. Thank you all for your input and Chino for pinpointing the exact issue! Cheers!
Thanks so much for popping back in and sharing an update and solution with the community, Rachel :)
Much appreciated and I'm glad that Chino was able to help.
