I assume you published and then tested locally (off your harddrive). The links are probably blocked by your browser's Flash Player security settings. Upload the published content to some server and then test, I bet the links work!
Thanks Michael, yes I published locally. I also published to our server.
I have tried shut downs, clearing cookies & history in Internet browser.
I deleted the first slide and recreated it with new buttons still no luck.
I then imported the whole project into a new storyline project without the first slide and recreated the 1st slide in new project again - this worked the first time through. As soon as the file was moved to our server the hyperlinks no longer work.
You'll want to publish locally, and then load the published files to a web server or LMS as described here. Playing the files off your local drive could cause you to encounter some security restrictions as Michael mentioned.
