Triggers all appear to be in place correctly, but don't actually work once I publish

May 26, 2020

Hello all,

So, I'm a super-new user and have tried to trouble-shoot this through the webinars and prior discussions.  It is probably something super-simple that I'm just missing.

I've built a simple simulation through Storyline 360 (nothing imported, all done in the program itself), and the triggers all look to be set up correctly, going by the webinars and such.  A scenario is presented, the student needs to make a choice about how to proceed, and depending on their choice, that brings them to the appropriate slide.  At least, that's the idea.

But when I publish it all and attempt to walk through it, none of the triggers actually do anything.  I'm hoping there's a simple solution to this, such as a box that I've just repeatedly managed to not realize needs to be ticked somewhere.  Does anyone know what it is I'm just not getting here?

Hi Everyone, I am sorry to jump on the conversation but I have exactly the same problem, and I thought it will be counterproductive to post a new discussion. So I am dropping my file here hoping someone could help. On slide 4, I have programmed a user entry to be true if different spelling are used but unfortunately only the 1st spelling "Histoire sociale du cinéma français" works... Thanks a lot in advance and I hope Diane will have her probem solved too !

Hi Blandine,

I'm not sure the issue you're experiencing here is the same as the one described by Diane, but the good news is that I figured out what's going on with your file!

It looks like the other versions of the text you entered had quotes around them, which is why they weren't working (see screenshot).

I simply deleted the quotation marks, and now it's working! :) I've attached my version of your file. Let me know if you're still seeing an issue on your end.
