Triggers in Articulate 2 disabled when uploaded to LMS

Sep 29, 2014

I have an Articulate Storyline that is set-up like a choose your own adventure.  Users are presented with a scenario in the form of a video.  At the end of that video, 2 characters appear trying to persuade users to see things their way and to make a decision in their favor.  The 2 characters disapear, 3 choice buttons come up taking them to 3 separate slides each with their own unique outcome.  If they choose the wrong outcome, they are prompted to click PREV and go back to try another option.

When I initially uploaded the Storyline file to our LMS, it was re-playing the videos are random when every element on the timeline appeared.  In other words, when each of the 2 characters appeared, the video would replay itself.  When the 3 choice buttons appeared, the video would replay itself.

I played around with the triggers and got it to where the video wouldn't play automatically until the user pressed play and that the timeline would start until the media had been completed.  In Articulate, in preview mode, it works perfectly, no issues at all.  But as soon as I uploaded it to our LMS, those triggers somehow just stopped working.  I don't know what happened, I'm not sure if it's an issue with Articulate 2 or our LMS.

Has anybody else experienced this issue?

I have not yet tested in inside the SCORM Cloud.  I wasn't aware that it was the industry standard for testing content.  Thank you for sharing this as it will help me to test our content more accurately in the future.

Our LMS is a local provider called Velop based out of Spokane, WA.  They are a small outfit that has custom build an LMS around our wants and needs.

I will test this out further and should I continue to encounter this problem, I will reach out to them.

Thank you for your feedback.
