I have a problem with triggers looping in circles instead of advancing to the designated slide. I keep checking the trigger setup screen and changing the settings, but when I come back to the setup screen it has changed itself back to the default "next slide". How do I fix this or delete all triggers and start over without deleting the slide or any element on the slide?
1. Since your new here, I would upload you story file and let us help you since triggers, and their order, can be confusing.
2. If you do not want to upload your story file, use the X button at the bottom of the Triggers panel to delete the selected triggers one-by-one.
To delete the trigger for the Next button, you can manually click the Trigger X button and it will also delete the Next button for the slide. To recreate the Next button trigger, select the Next checkbox in the slide properties panel located below the triggers panel.
As Dennis mentioned, triggers can be tricky - so we're happy to take a look at your .story file which you can attach here using the paper clip icon just above the reply text box. If you're unable to share it here, let us know and I can send you directions on an additional way to share it with me privately.
It sounds like odd behavior from your Storyline file, so I would like you to check the following items as well:
When creating, editing, and publishing Articulate Storyline courses, be sure you're working on your local hard drive (typically your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, such as file corruption, an inability to save changes, and loss of resources. See this article for more information.
Is this happening in every Storyline course? If so, I'd recommend following thetroubleshooting steps in this article to fix unexpected or erratic behavior in Articulate Storyline.
