Triggers not hiding a layer

Apr 14, 2015

Hi everyone, I'm experiencing a little trouble with triggers.  I built a slide with 5 graphics, when you hover over each graphic, a title name appears to the right of the graphic. When you click on the actual graphic a description of the picture appears and the state of the graphic changes to visited . However I am unable to hide the layer which bares the title name of the graphic. I have the following triggers in the following order:

show layer 'title1" when the mouse hovered over picture1

show layer 'info for title1' when the user clicks picture1

hide layer 'title1' when the user clicks picture1

change state of 'picture1' to visited when the user clicks picture1

Have I made this too complicated? Appreciate any advice you may have.

Thank you

Nerina

HI Nerina

in addition to using layers you could also change the state of your picture so that when the user hovers the mouse over the title appears, when they move the mouse away the title disappears, when they click the description appears.

Try reversing the order of 2 and 3 above so you are hiding the title layer when the user clicks and then showing the desc layer.

Happy to take a look if you want to upload the slide.

Hi Wendy, initially when I created the slide I did create a visited state with the title name appearing to the right of the picture. However when the layer holding the description for each picture appears, I found that if I hovered the mouse over the graphic, the title name would appear amongst the description layer. I was trying to avoid this and therefore removed the title name from the visited state.  I will try reversing the order as per your advice.

Appreciate your prompt response.Nerina
