Triggers on states that do not belong but cannot be removed.

Sep 08, 2016

I need some assistance on this.

I'm doing a Jeopardy-esque board and on the first slide I give the option for the user to select an Avatar.  I have the variable AVATARTF that is set to T when selected.  On the same slide I have a continue button that changes the variable AVATARVAL to a value based on the avatar that is changed.

On the next slide a Slide trigger changes the state of an image(AVTR) to the correct state depending on the value of AVATARVAL.  Everything works great.

But if the user clicks on the AVTR on the second slide, a mysterious trigger will change the state (I believe that it might actually be layering another picture, but hard to prove).  Upon editing the states of AVTR, I found that each of the states has a trigger associated with it that is causing this issue.  It is not giving me the option to remove the trigger.

Any ideas on how to address this?  I can attach a sample story if required, I just need to take out the proprietary info.

Thanks for any insight.

Sadly this is an oddity that is difficult to reproduce.  When I remove all the important items, the issue goes away.

I was able to resolve this however by placing the avatar box off the screen and have the states appear on the screen.  This appears to prevent the user from clicking on the actual avatar box and seems to correct the issue.

I am starting to enjoy working in the off screen areas to accomplish some of the "behind the scenes" actions.
