Trouble Keeping Text Box Hidden On Every Slide Until User Chooses to Show It

I hope you all can help! I have created a database simulation and am interested in including information re: field inputs in a text box that moves in and out so as not to obscure the screen if the user chooses to hide the information.

I am using a group of objects that move along motion paths and even use triggers based on a true/false variable to change the look of the button to custom states once its animation is complete. 

My challenge: the behavior resets once the user moves to the next slide. How do I keep the text box (or menu) hidden or visible based on what the user chose in previous slides? For example, if the user chooses to hide this text box on slide 1, I want it hidden on every slide until the user chooses to show the text box. Then I want it to be shown on every slide until the user chooses to hide the text box. Can this be done?
