Trouble reordering Player Triggers

Hi Barb,

Can you post your .story file here, so we can take a look at the triggers? If the file isn't too large, you should be able to attach the file to your response by using the little paperclip icon.

I can't post it online as it's for a client, but I was able to email it to the HEROS mailbox (despite being 28 MB). Are you able to retrieve it from there?

Unfortunately, if you respond to the automatic email it won't post to the forums. However, if you'd like, you're welcome to submit the files to us through a support case. You should be able to attach the .story file on the second page of the form. If you get a chance, please share that case number with me (either in this thread or in a private message), so I can follow the progress of the case and update this thread.

Hi Diane and welcome to Heroes! 

I don't see where Barb ever submitted a case, so I'm not certain what her particular issue was.

In regards to the order that the triggers are listed, you'll see "slide trigger", "object triggers" and "player triggers" are listed in groupings, and you can move them within each grouping, but not above or below another grouping. 

Hi, Ashley, and thanks for responding so quickly to my inquiry! I love the e-Learning Heroes!

According to the trigger list, these are all object triggers. I've attached an image showing the three triggers. The TextEntry trigger is highlighted because I selected that object on the slide, but the up/down arrows are grayed out and it won't let me move the trigger. I deleted the object and added it again, but it made no difference.

The Firstname trigger is on a data entry field the other two triggers are on a button you cannot use the blue arrows to move triggers onto there objects

Thanks for the image - as Phil said, you can't move the text entry trigger between the button triggers or above them. You could move those button triggers so that one comes before the other - but couldn't set it to appear after the text entry.  Here is some additional information about how triggers are executed.

If you'd like to share a bit more about the issue you're running into or even a copy of your .story file we're happy to take a look. 

The issue something is blocking the ability to move triggers. It has to be something in the settings? What is it?

Can you shed some more light on the difficulty you're having moving triggers around? Take a look at this tutorial for more details on how to use triggers.
