Try Again and Multiple Choice Question

Mar 31, 2016

Hi.  This is probably easier than it seems... Is it possible to give two attempts to answer a MCQ if I have given feedback on each answer choice?

Hi Brenda!  Yes, that's possible.  You'll just set the Attempts to 2, and in your Form View, Feedback for each answer has a "More..." button.  You'll make sure that all of those choices are set to branch to the next slide (or one of your choosing), but that will only happen after 2 attempts.

That branching behavior is controlled by an Attempt Count condition that you can see in the Trigger Panel in Slide View.

I will give that a try.

I have another related question.  I have a muti select multiple choice question that I would like to have reset after an incorrect answer is picked.  I want to give two tries.  I can see to get the try again button to show and allow for that second try.  I have attached my Articulate file.

I'm not sure I follow the feedback branching.  I already have feedback provided for each answer choice.  What I really need is for the user to make an answer selection, say they select the wrong answer then they have a chance to try again - this is where I get stuck.  I will attach my question example.

Hi Brenda,

Thanks for reaching out here. If you're using "feedback by choice" they typically see the feedback and then are continued onto the next slide. If you allow more than one attempt for a graded question and you're displaying feedback By question, you can customize the Try Again feedback and they'll be able to reattempt the question. You can read more about feedback branching here.

Hi Brenda, I had the same problem.
What I did was when I clicked on the try again, I placed a trigger for each possible response: change the status to normal (for each response) when the user clicks on trying again button. This restarts the question and the person can try as many times as they want.

Two years later... sorry
