Try it Mode and the yellow box
Dec 20, 2012
Hello again all,
I know how to remove the yellow box when tabbing through a normal slide (uncheck the visibility in size and position), however, I am having an issue when I insert a video as Try It Mode.
The video loads my slides and one slide in particular only requires the user to Tab through it. Because that is all it needs, there are not objects in the timeline to manipulate. This means when I right click on the slide, there is no option for size and position so I am not able to uncheck visitibilty for this slide. I still added an object off sides, and if I tab twice during the preview the yellow box moves off the slide to my hidden object, but it always starts with the yellow box around the entire slide view.
Is there any work around for this? I have downloaded the lastest version (12/18/12) but I can't get around it.
As always, much appreciation for your help.
Lisa

does anyone have a fix to this? we're having the same issue!!
Hi Christine,
Can you share a bit more about what's happening with your file? If you'd like you can share your .story file here or send it to us by submitting a Support case so that we can take a look at your file?
Hi, I am having exactly the same problem! It is so frustrating - The system I am recording heavily relies on the Tab key to move from field to field. So every time a user presses the tab key a big yellow box appears around the screen cast. This looks awful.
Hi Eric,
This is expected behavior based on accessibility, and you can disable it as described here although that will impact the ability of screen readers to communicate the necessary information to your users.
Hi Ashley,
Thanks for that. However in guide me mode I can't get access to that tick box on the screen cast part - is there anyway of switching it off for that?
Hi Eric,
The screen cast part itself you won't have access to that feature, but any of the clicks or hint captions you will be able to turn it off. There is not a feature to turn off the accessibility as a whole, and you'll see that mentioned in our 508 compliance documentation.
Hi Ashley,
Many thanks! I least I know now... :o)
I'm happy I could point you in the right direction, and feel free to let us know if you need anything else.
