What browser are you using to access the forums? Have you checked to see that your Flash version is also updated? I'm not able to replicate the "Greyed out" for any of the icons, with the exception of the link ones, which become active once you select text to link. If you're looking to share a file here in the forums, the paperclip icon is your first method but you could also share a link here where we'd be able to download the file, saw a public Dropbox link?
