Trying to get Green Check Mark "watched videos" to work

Oct 27, 2020

Hi Everyone, thanks in advance for your help!

I have a course that requires user to watch 4 sets of videos before the course can be completed. I have 2 goals:

1) have a green check mark become visible once each set of video is watched and the user is returned to the Choose a video screen.

2) once all 4 sets of videos are watched, only then can a CONGRATS/COMPLETION screen be viewed.

Once I figured out goal 1, I figured goal 2 would be more viable. I cannot get either of these goals.

To complete, goal 1, I created 2 variables.

"TomatoCount" = +1 each time a tomato video is fully watched

"TomatoVideoWatched" = initially negative, turns positive once TomatoCount =3

The Slide Properties tab has been configured to Resume to Saved State when revisiting.

Once TomatoCount=3, the initially hidden checkmark should turn green upon revisit of the screen. Using reference codes, both the counter variable and positive/negative variable are working as designed, the counter successfully +1 every video and displays TomatoCount=3 upon revisit.

2 odd things that are happening is the hover function works as designed before TomatoCount=3, but upon re-visiting of Topic screen, both the glow behind the tomato image & Text itself are constantly in Visible state, despite both being checked to restore initial state upon hover stop.

I appreciate any help that you Heroes can offer! Thank you so much!

Hi Aaron,

Thanks for reaching out! In regards to the Menu items remaining visible upon returning to the slide, you can change the Slide properties to Reset to Initial state.

You'll notice that if you select another option instead of tomato first, like Onion, for example, then the onion will remain in a glowing state when you revisit.

To help guide your two main goals, I recommend these steps:

  1. Create a separate True/False variable for each video that changes to True when each video is complete.
  2. Create a trigger in the Menu slide to change the state of each check mark to Normal when the True/Valse variable changes for each video.
  3. In the Menu slide, create a trigger to Jump to the Congrats slide when the state of all checkmarks are Normal.

Give it a try, and let us know if you have any questions as you go along!

Unfortunately, I am experiencing the same errors as before.

I have clicked the slide properties and made slide 1.1 - 'Greeting/Topic Select' Slide to reset upon revisiting its initial state.

I have created a separate True/False variable for each video; each defaults as False and changes to True to when each video completes. I have the debug references in each slide to test, it works as designed: False turns to True when media completes. For redundancy, I have the references for each variable on the 1st slide, all show "True" to demonstrate that at-least that part is done correctly.

Please reference my screenshot of the trigger wizard, I believe this is where my errors are happening, can I ask how that should be properly set-up?
