TTS (Text to speech) feature in Storyline

Jan 10, 2023

Are there any plans to expand the TTS (Text to speech) feature in Storyline to include updated voices, or more voice options?

Hi Larisa,

Thanks for reaching out! Adding more voice options for Storyline's text-to-speech is an excellent idea for a feature request; others think so too! A feature request has already been submitted for this. I have linked this conversation to that request, so if it makes it onto our feature roadmap, we'll make sure to update you!

I second Larisa's request. Specifically, more natural sounding voices like the ones Apple is using for audio books.

I appreciate the current capability, but I can only use it with reviewers to validate content; it's not quite there in my opinion to bring to participants.

Thanks!

Hello, Everyone!

I'm happy to share that we have released a new update for Storyline 360 (v3.80.30988.0.).

In this update, we included an enhancement for:

  • Support for NTTS or Neural Voices

Please update to the latest version of Storyline 360 to see this improvement. Here's how:

Update Authoring Apps

If you have any questions, please let us know in this thread or privately in a support case.

Have a great day!

I'm impressed by this update! The neural voice Joanna, in my opinion, is particularly good!

Just a note: Joanna struggles under certain contexts, for instance, to pronounce the word "alternative" properly. The "al" is left out -- but only sometimes. I have found phonetic methods around this issue.

Overall, A+ on this enhancement. Would love to hear more voices that are as listenable as Joanna's is.
