Turn MP3 encoding off when pubishing?

Feb 04, 2020

Can you turn off MP3 encoding? I have hundreds of coarses I need to recompile as HTML5 only. The original MP3 audio was recorded/saved between 48 and 96 kbps. I have the publish options at the exact matching kbps. Yet, each coarse takes 10 to 15 minutes to compile since Storyline still re-encoded each MP3 file !

Hi Ken!

Great question! When you publish, the MP3 files get re-encoded at the audio bitrate you choose in the quality settings.

  • Standard quality uses an audio bitrate of 56 kbps.
  • Custom quality lets you select an audio bitrate between 16 kbps and 160 kbps.
  • Optimize Audio Volume normalizes audio throughout your course for consistent volume across all slides. If your course audio already has consistent volume, you can speed up the publishing process by unchecking this option.
