I've been asked to create a tutorial that needs to have the option of changing languages between English and Japanese. Is there a way for the user to switch languages easily?
There are a few ways you can approach this. You need a variable where the user selects the desired language. Then you could have one path (scenes) that are English and the other path Japanese that is determined by the variable. If your slides are pretty simple you could have an English layer and a Japanese layer with a trigger saying to show the Japanese layer if the language variable is Japanese and show the English layer if the variable is English. You could also do this using states; so all of your text would have 2 states, one English and one Japanese, put a trigger that changes the state of each item to the appropriate language based on the variable. The same holds true if you have audio tracks, just set a trigger to play the appropriate one based on the variable.
Thank you both for the replies. I had suspected it was a variable but wanted to double check my own instincts. Emily, the thread you sent me to is perfectly timed because this morning I found out we'll be adding Spanish as well.
