Unable to stop media (audio) when page revisited

Feb 14, 2020

I'm using Storyline 3 and have attached a file for reference that has had the proprietary information removed.

On page 2 of the attached file, when the learner clicks any of the buttons, she is taken to a page in another scene. From that page, she can click a Close button to return to page 2. Variables set the state of the buttons on page 2 to Visited after the user accesses the relevant page in the other scene.

There is audio on page 2. I don't want that audio to continue to play if the learner clicks one of the buttons on page 2, then clicks Close to return to page 2, but I can't make it stop. I've tried the usual "Stop media when button is in Visited state" method and I've tried "Stop media when variable changes," but neither method works.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

- Jennifer
