I have the latest update for SL2 and I noted that one of the release note fixes was "Fixed issue where aligning objects to the playhead would extend the timeline of the slide". This is still occurring consistently for me. Is anyone else finding this? Sorry if I missed a thread on this.
Hi Jeff! We do have this issue marked as fixed in Storyline 2, Update 11. Is this the update that you are utilizing? Can you share the steps to replicate since you mention able to do so consistently?
Made a short SL video demonstrating the issue. I do have Update 11. This is one example of a couple of different, but similar issues with timelines. I was not aware of the 'align to cue point' behavior issue, but it's odd that in my program, the cue point alignments work just fine.

OK- FYI there are a couple of other unwanted timeline extension issues that remain. One example- if I set the timing of a button to appear at a given time, rather than just the start point of that button's appearance at the specified time, the timeline pushes out beyond the desired slide ending (leaving dead space), even though the button is set to 'show until end'.

I also wanted to indicate that the "align to cue point" still causes this behavior - so make sure you're using the playhead set up.
