Using seekbar stops tigger from working

May 05, 2013

Hi e-learning wizards, I need help please.

I have a number of hotspots throughout my project which do the following:

- Shows a 'pause layer' when their individual timeline starts

- Hides the 'pause layer' when the user clicks on it

When I play my project straight through they work perfectly, but as soon as I use the seekbar to move around a slide, the hotspots for that slide don't fire the pause layer anymore, they just play straight through...

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Alex

Welcome to E-Learning Heroes, Alex!

It sounds like the hotspots are breaking when you're seeking, but it's difficult to provide suggestions without seeing how this is set up.

What type of triggers are you using on the hotspots and layers? Do you have them arranged in the timeline to show at certain points, or are you simply triggering them?

Any chance you could share your .STORY file here, so the community can take a look?

Thanks!

Hi Christine,

Thanks for your response, I managed to work it out...I made the pause layer not only hide when the user clicks the hotspot, but also when the hotspot timeline ends. That way if someone uses the seek bar to skip past the hotspot the layer is hidden, so if they then skip back to the hotspot it's 'reset'.

Not sure if that makes sense, but basically it's fixed!

Thanks,

Alex
