Using Variables to Control Next Button when Layer Viewing

Jun 07, 2023

Good morning,

I am working on a slide that has the next button disabled on the player until three rectangle buttons on the slide are viewed. I have used a number variable on each button/layer which adds a value of 1 when they are clicked on. I also have a trigger set that when the state of the three rectangle buttons are visited the state of the next button is set to normal and my number variable is set to a value of 3. (I have no trigger to automatically disable the next button) This set up seems to work nicely.

However, if I only click two of the rectangle buttons and go to a previous slide and then come back to the slide with the buttons it shows the next button as enabled. I am not sure how this can be resolved. Any suggestions are certainly welcomed!

Thank you in advance!

It sounds like the trigger that disables the Next button doesn't run when the user revisits the slide. There are a number of things that could cause that. It's impossible to check without seeing the .story file.
