Hi there, Nir. I'm really sorry you're seeing your Hebrew text appear incorrectly. I need to get a little more information from you to make sure I can document this problem correctly:
Are the individual characters showing in reverse order (or flipped)? Or, is it the entire line of text that is displaying LTR instead of the expected RTL?
Is this happening as you type the text into the text entry field, or just when the text is referenced after?
If you can provide a screenshot of what the text should look like, and then how it appears when you try to make the reference, that would be helpful. Thanks!
Hi Nir, thanks for responding! If you respond by email, attachments don't come through. But I understand the issue. We have it documented for our team to review, and I'm attaching your discussion to our report. That way, I can update you with any changes.
This issue started occurring in update 20 for Storyline 360. If you'd like to talk about reverting to update 19, feel free to reach out to us here, or just let me know. I'll open a priority case for you with my team.
Finally some improvement :) I disabled the Modern Text and now the RTL text is fine in:
List Numbering and bullets
Text Entry and dynamic text
The only problem I noticed is in Text Entry field, when I apply the field with a style of a Dashed border, the text inside move to right and out of the field.
Are you going to apply the fix in the modern text? Does the old classic text remain supported?
We still continue to support Classic text and the Modern text option was designed to help those authors who were struggling with how some ligatures and other text characteristics were displaying.
We're still looking into this issue, so as soon as we have more to share we'll post in this discussion!
Thanks for your patience while our team fixed the issue where variable references in the right-to-left text displayed in the reverse order. Today's Update 33 hotfix resolves the problem, so be sure to download and install the update today from your Articulate 360 Desktop app!
I still seem to be experiencing this when using Arabic text. I know an older version addressed this. I'm up to date currently with Storyline, so is there any suggestions on how to address this using the current version? Thanks!

Hi,
The characters in reverse order in the reference (not when I type in the text field).
Example: If I type "ABC", the reference will show "CBA".
I attached a screenshot.

Hi,
7 months later and and this problem still exists :-(
Is there a solution to this irritating problem?
Thanks, Arie
Hi Arie,
So sorry you're running into this! What language are you using? So far we've seen this problem with Arabic and Hebrew text.
Some people have seen an improvement when disabling Modern Text. Let me know if that workaround makes a difference for you.
We promise to keep you posted on any new information!
Hו Alyssa,
Disabling Modern Text solved the problem!
Now I'm not sure what effect the change will have on the display of fonts on the other screens (if any).
Thanks, Arie
