Variables and Conditions
May 16, 2013
I have never worked with variables in Storyline. I'm wokring on a co-workers course that's on vacation and I'm trying to make sense of the programming, so I can duplicate it.
The course has a menu page with a number of topics/links for the user to click on to get product information. After the user is done with that product a check mark appears over the product on the main menu page-indicating that section has been completed/visited. How do I duplicate that?

Hi Salicia,
Without seeing the slides in question, I am not 100% sure what is triggering the check mark to appear. However, the simplest solution would be to create a 'visited' state of the menu item and add the check mark there.
I hope this helps, but please feel free to post back (and attach the slide in question) if you have any queries.

I think you're right!!! Thanks.
How do I create a visited state?
I'm working with a png graphic. I want to place a red check mark over it.
How do I create this visited state. I'm sure it's probably super easy.
Hi, If you click on Edit States you will be able to add in a new custom state and make all sorts of changes to them from there.
Louise is right. Although from the screen shot you have provided Salicia, it looks like your colleague has called this state 'c' rather than 'visited' but the principle is the same.
There is an excellent tutorial on adding and editing states here.
