Video controls not working on mobile devices

Hi All, I'm trying to make a course (chromeless, modern player, SL360) with mobile-friendly in-page videos but experiencing the following:

1) The video controls are disappearing on iphone 8 and other devices when I rotate to landscape mode (though they display/work OK in portrait).  

2) Also on an iphone 8 the safari URL bar on the top and nav bar on the bottom keeps popping up and obscuring the page. It goes away by rotating to portrait and back to landscape but the course (reflected in attached SL file but not screen shots fyi) is built to view and we'd like to publish as landscape-only. 

Any thoughts or feedback greatly appreciated!

Hi, Bill. Our team is seeing an issue in Storyline 360 where the video controls don't appear correctly on tablets or mobile phones.

You had the right idea by opening a case and sharing your file. That way, we can test it on our end to be sure what you're seeing is related to the bug I mentioned.

You'll hear back from our team as soon as they've tested your file!

Hello Mike!

I'm happy to help! Since you're using the latest version of Storyline 360, we'll look at the published environment. Here are a few questions that will help me test this on my end:

  • Which device are you using to view the course where the controls aren't working as expected?
  • Have you tried viewing the course in a different browser? If so, do the video controls not work in a particular browser?
  • Have you published the course for LMS, Web, or Review 360?

It would be helpful if you have a sample file to share too! You can attach it to this discussion using the Add Attachment button or upload it privately to us by using this link.

I know that's a lot of questions! We're here to make sure your course works as expected for your learners!

Hi Lauren

We had one user in UAT (LMS - Successfactors) advise that it was not working on Ipad in Landscape.

I was able to reproduce this in Review 360 (Tablet Landscape), unfortunately I do not have access to a Tablet/Ipad to test in LMS.

Every other option works in review 360 and as best I can tell also in LMS.

Unfortunately I am not at liberty to share a sample as it contains Corporate IP.
