Video in Storyline

I have to insert about 22 minutes of video from a file that is 62 minutes long. The 22 minutes is broken up on 9 different slides and I have a total of  35 edits because I also have to bring in and take out graphics which build over the video, while the video is playing.

What is the best work process for accomplishing this task?

Right now I'm loading the entire video on each slide, selecting the cut I want with the video editor in Storyline, Then creating graphics and recreating the same graphic everytime I want it to build. 

What am I doing wrong? There must be an easier/less time consuming way to do this.
