Video links using a Mac

Apr 07, 2016

Hi I wonder if someone can help? I have built a course that has 20 links to video files hosted on the company website. I am testing the course currently by publishing the course to our shared drive. The guys who are reviewing, open the story.html file to see the course and leave their feedback on the course word document. The problem I have is one reviewer is using a mac and he is unable to see the video links at all.

When I first tried it using Chrome I was given a message to say the videos would not play as it was a local version. However I found that using IE and Firefox everything worked OK.

The reason I am using a local copy is the product has not yet been released yet so I cannot use Rustici or Articulate online due to the security sensitivities, is there anything I can tell my mac reviewer to do in order for him to see the videos?

Hi Ivor!

If you view an Articulate Storyline course on your local hard drive (or send it to someone else to view on their local hard drive), you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features to fail. To properly test your published content and share it with others, upload it to the environment for which it was published. See this article for details.

Be sure to utilize the publish to CD option for local viewing.
